Use Case: Duplicating SharePoint Permissions with ControlPoint
A common SharePoint use case: You are a SharePoint Administrator, and an end user on your team approaches you requesting access to two new project resources that recently joined the team -- James Joyce and Isaac Asimov. You ask where these users will need permissions, and the end user simply responds "Just give them the same permissions as Mark Twain." Identifying Mark Twain's permissions and then "copying" those permissions over to two new users can be accomplished through SharePoint on its own, but can be very time consuming and has the potential for mistakes.
With ControlPoint, we can duplicate a user’s permissions across a list item, list, site, site collection, or the whole farm through a simple action.
Step 1: Select the Model User whose permissions you want to duplicate and the user(s) who you want them duplicated to.

Step 2: Run the action to complete the duplication.

In addition, you may view the Model User’s permissions prior to the operation and you may backup the permissions using ControlPoint, as well. For more information on this award-winning platform, you can find the datasheet here, or sign up for a live webinar here.
