Use Case: Setting SharePoint Properties in Bulk
A common SharePoint use case: You’re a SharePoint Administrator, and you need to makes some broad changes across multiple lists and libraries, but the SharePoint settings pages give you a headache. These pages contain way too many links to manage lists and libraries one by one:

With ControlPoint, you can set these properties in bulk. For example, the settings for creating major and minor versions can be applied to all your document libraries across your entire farm. You can even enforce this setting as a policy so that the setting cannot be changed, and so all document libraries created in the future will have this property applied, as well.
Step 1: Select the scope of the list setting. In this example, I’m applying the setting farm-wide.

Step 2: Select the settings you want to apply to your lists/libraries in bulk. In this example, I’m applying major and minor versions.

Step 3: Select the library type you want to apply. You also have the option to enforce this setting as a policy.

This is extremely powerful when you need to keep settings uniform throughout your SharePoint farm and to ensure your governance plan is being followed. Settings like requiring a checkout, column validation, and default column values are often incorporated into governance plans. It is often the responsibility of the Site Collection Administrator to add these new libraries. With ControlPoint, you can ensure your administrators are creating all libraries with the proper settings, with the click of a button.
