SharePoint Saturday Sacramento Wrap
One of the huge benefits of starting up a local community event with the help of an international brand is that it comes with many default settings, such as a long list of prospective sponsors, best practices around scheduling and giveaways, and an army of willing volunteers to help plan, staff, and speak at the event. And yet somehow the inaugural SharePoint Saturday Sacramento event broke the mold in some ways, and was a great kickoff to an ongoing series in the Sacramento valley. Axceler was proud to be a Gold Sponsor of the event, and part of the organizing committee to make the event possible, working with Kiefer Consultingand their organizer extraordinaire, Business Development Director Kelley Tyburski. She did a fantastic job, and the event's success is largely due to her hard work.
With a kickoff from SharePoint MVP Ivan Sanders, SPS Sacramento took place inside the beautiful Folsom Lake Community College Regional Performing Arts Center, and included 25 sessions, 20 sponsors, 220 attendees, and a live band during lunch! With the rapid growth of SharePoint, and the strong interest in region, the organizing committee has already booked the college for the same time next year - and Axceler will definitely participate. With room to grow, we hope to see more of the community come out next year to fill the event to capacity.
As Axceler continues to grow, we look forward to participating in more events like this, and will play an active role in upcoming SharePoint Saturdays in California, including next's years plans in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, East Bay (San Ramon), and of course the next Sacramento event.
