SharePoint Permissions Management Made Easy
I was reading through some of the SharePoint tips from the SecretsofSharePoint.com 'Experts in Residence' section, and came across a great overview of permissions inheritance by Jenny Branham. One comment, however, jumped out at me:
"considering security in SharePoint becomes very complex. To get a true and complete picture of how someone has access to an environment, every site, subsite, list/library, folder, and item will need to be evaluated."

SharePoint permissions can be very complex out of the box, but with ContorlPoint you can analyze permissions for any securable object in SharePoint. The analysis starts from a hierarchical representation of the SharePoint farm. All you do is right click on the object you want to analyze, and select the appropriate Security report to run. Report parameters can be filtered by Users, AD groups, and Permissions levels. (thanks Jamie!)
