Thought this was an interesting read, particularly the part about the number of organizations that believe SharePoint to be "mission critical" will more than triple in the next three years.

E-mail is widely used for collaboration, even though it was not intended for that and it is not particularly well suited for it. So, in many organizations where Microsoft Exchange is deployed for communication and file transport, SharePoint is becoming the de facto collaboration platform, according to a recently released white paper from Osterman Research, sponsored by consulting company Azaleos.
In its paper, Osterman estimates that about two-thirds of Exchange-enabled users will have access to SharePoint in some form or another by year's end, and it noted that the number of organizations that believe SharePoint to be "mission critical" will more than triple in the next three years.
